Thermoplastic injection molding is a manufacturing process whereby heat-softened plastic resin is injected into metal mold cavities under high pressure, then cooled, allowing it to solidify in a desired shape. This process is used to produce parts which range from the very simple to the highly complex, and it is most cost-effective when large numbers of parts are desired. With injection molding machines (often called presses) ranging from 30 tons to 730 tons, we can produce parts which weigh anywhere from a fraction of an ounce to several pounds.
